The lenouvelr Group is accelerating its transition to digital production, ensuring greater flexibility in production between its various sites, and offering its customers more application possibilities, following major investments in Konica Minolta technologies.

The AccurioJet KM-1e HD LED UV inkjet digital production press and MOTIONCUTTER digital high-speed laser sheetfed system from Konica Minolta have been successfully installed at Imprimerie Connivence in Ange, western France, which is one of the 10 companies within the lenouvelr Group. More than half of Imprimerie Connivence’s business is in commercial production, but it also has a substantial presence in wide format and packaging markets.

Packaging and photobook applications are two growth areas for the lenouvelr Group, which sees the Konica Minolta AccurioJet KM-1e HD as a natural successor to offset technology. With print quality equivalent to or better than offset, lenouvelr Group sees photobooks as a market to be developed in the future. And the MOTIONCUTTER from Konica Minolta will play a key role in custom printing and many other business applications.

Both investments by the lenouvelr Group are part of a strategic plan to reduce waste and further capitalise on a shift to web-to-print operations. This business area has seen a 30% uplift since its Conniweb online platform was created just over three years ago where responsiveness and speed of delivery are crucial. The site enables customers to find all the communication media they need in just a few clicks.

The lenouvelr Group already has Konica Minolta AccurioPress C14000/C12000 and AccurioPrint C6100 and AccurioLabel 190 toner machines, plus a JETVarnish 3DS digital finishing system MGI Digital Technology.

The growth of e-commerce is clearly a key driver for the continued growth of digital packaging and label production in the coming years. This trend will have a major impact on commercial printers. In particular, they need to be able to react quickly and develop specific e-business solutions, such as the Conniweb platform that is now an integral part of Connivence Printing.

He continues: "All these trends explain the success of digital printing, which is now the technology of choice for a large number of different applications and in a wide range of markets. This technology will continue to gain ground over traditional offset - and our proven systems offer a natural transition to digital. With dedicated́ and locally available support around the world, we work closely with our customers and brands in a partnership approach and continue to help them rethink the possibilities of printing."
